Anga "NaakMusiQ" Makubalo

By Remofilwe Matlholwa

One of the hottest young talents to look out for is multitalented Anga Makubalo aka NaakMusiQ who plays MJ Mawande in the local soapie Generations. What most of us don’t know is that this young man has been around for quite some time. Some might recognize him from his guest appearance on Mmino Mania in 2011 as a guest singer, yep the guy’s got talent alright, and not only does he act but he’s a singer too.

Anga had an interest in acting which led to him taking acting and presenting lessons at Talent International as a young boy and he must have made quite an impression because later on he became a part time teacher coaching and mentoring young talents at that very same school.
In the year 2009 Anga enrolled at Damelin Bramely for studies in contemporary music where he was taught by great artists such as RJ Benjamin and Benjy Mudie. Remember the Eltonnik Baainar CD that featured the number one hit track Move? Well you might be surprised to hear that Anga collaborated with Eltonnick on this hit that topped charts on Y-fm, Metro FM and 5fm. The video was showing on popular television programmes, such as Live and Channel O.

Apart from his involvement in the music industry Anga was an MC at the Nu Metro Ladies Night out event in 2010. He’s had presenting roles on SABC 2’s Hectic 9 Nine (2008/9) and Pinda Quest with Canadian network called Knight Scove, it was later broadcasted on Animal Planet in 2011.

Back to his role in the music industry he’s also featured in CDs with the likes of Soulcandi: Tokzen Sound, Sheer: House of Flava 2 mixed by Mo Flava, Zar Sushi Mix mixed by Fistaz, Nkokhi – Journey of Life album and many more.
In April this year NaakMusiQ released his debut album under his record label Baainar Records.

For those wondering how he got such a hot bod, this Port Elizabeth born young man was quite an athlete in his school years. He participated in athletics, soccer, cricket and rugby. This lead to him getting a sports bursary and being accepted at Edenvale High when he relocated to Johannesburg with his mom in 2003.

Anga plans on becoming a model, he has actually appeared in a few adverts. This talented young man has the potential to make it big in the entertainment industry. His motivation is God and the people around him.
With music, acting and a pending modeling career you can be sure to see more of him in future. For now stay tuned to your TVs as he continues to deliver a great performance on South Africa’s #1 soapie Generations.
